Description:
Singer/songwriter COLIN WAKEFORD has been described in Manchester's City Life as "one of Manchester's most promising singer-songwriters" and as processing a "vibrant and punchy" style "similar to Neil Finn combining melody with attitude". He cites Neil Finn, Lennon & McCartney, James Grant, Del Amitri, Squeeze and early-Elvis Costello as his influences.

After playing in several bands in his native Scotland during the 1980's, he dropped out of the live music scene for a while before resurfacing in 2000 on the Manchester acoustic circuit as a solo performer. His music offers intelligent lyrics woven around old-school pop melodies.

As well as touring the acoustic circuits the length and breadth of the country, he has supported MIDGE URE, THE CHRISTIANS, THE MIGHTY WAH!, THE LOTUS EATERS, "GUITAR GEORGE" BOROWSKI, and BOB FOX.

In 2003 he featured on the Liverpool-based Chromium Records compilation, UP NORTH PART 2.
