Born on the coast of Bangor, but raised on the border of Lancashire and Cumbria, Gareth Llewellyn Armstrong is a singer/songwriter who pulls the influences of Celtic folk and of indie avatars such as Jeff Buckley together to form a sound that has the sensibilities of the former and raw emotion of the latter.

At the beginning of his career, Gareth formed a band called Outpost, which had a small amount of success in the Lancaster/Morecambe area, although split in 2002 when he went to Manchester to study. During that time, Gareth shared a house with a group of musicians and founded The Waverton Collective, along with Anna Kate Putter, Sam Lench and Anna Zweck. Although his involvment with the group did not last for long; he performed twice with the Collective, before deciding to return to being a true solo artist. Gareth did collaborate in writing a number of songs with his then girlfriend Anna Kate Putter, and a great deal of his material is indebted to the lyrical talents of the Scottish singer/songwriter. After the relationationship with Anna broke down and she returned to St Andrews, Gareth has continued to work on his existing material as well as writing a number of new songs which are featured in his E.P. titled "Paper Dragons" after the title song. He is now working with the ExR collective of artists based in Chorlton.
