About us

Extraordinary Rendition Manchester Musicians' Collective, a.k.a. EXR, is a social enterprise organisation. We are based in rehearsal rooms at the Kula Studios in Manchester, where many of our 100 bands and acoustic acts practice. We have our own record label called EXR Records, and recording studio. Our team includes graphic artists, sound and lighting engineers, film makers, photographers and promotional staff. We have produced monthly newsletter for the Carlton Club and looked into producing a monthly fanzine covering aspects of the Manchester music scene.

We broadcast the ALL FM unsigned show fortnightly on a Monday, between 11pm and 1am on 96.9FM. This programme showcases local artists and other promotional organisations, as well as reviewing and providing information about live music in Manchester. We put on around 25 live music nights per month of our own, in Greater Manchester. EXR's philosophy is to challenge the pay-to-play and play-for-nothing cultures in Manchester, by providing gigs for talented musicians where they are paid for their work.
